Peer review and utilization review
Dr. Harvey performs physician peer review and utilization review in orthopedic and spine cases. Carriers and third-party administrators request them to decide whether proposed or delivered care was appropriate. Each review is a written determination based on the file and the criteria the program applies.
Review programs set their own reviewer requirements. Send those requirements with your inquiry, and Dr. Harvey will confirm whether he can take the assignment. Reviews are limited to orthopedic and spine cases.
A review covers the file as submitted, and the determination lists the records reviewed. Send the date the determination is due with your inquiry.
Opinions are based on the records, examination and medical literature. Fees are for time and never depend on the outcome. Available to plaintiff and defense.
